Manage and edit links
Passwords, expiration rules, Smart URLs, bulk tools, and editing links.
When you need more than a simple redirect, T.LY includes tools to help you control who can access a link, when it expires, and where it sends people.
Edit a short link
Editing links requires an account. From your dashboard you can update the slug, destination URL, password, expiration rules, and other settings in Link Management.
Password protect a link
Add a password so only people with that password can visit the destination. Manage this in Link Management. For a walkthrough, see how to password protect a short URL.
Expire a link
Set a link to expire after a specific date or after a maximum number of clicks. Configure this inside Link Management.
Smart URLs (routing)
Smart URLs can redirect people to different destinations based on device, location, or browser. This is useful when one campaign needs multiple landing pages.
Example: https://t.ly/extension routes users to the correct extension install page. Build Smart URLs in Link Management.
Bulk import, bulk edit, and bulk export
If you are working with lots of links, use the bulk tools in your Links dashboard. Open Bulk Actions to import, update, export, or delete links in batches.
Bulk import (CSV)
- Go to Links and open Bulk Actions → Bulk Import.
- Download the template from the modal and keep the column headers the same.
- CSV fields: LongURL (required), Backhalf (optional), Password (optional), Description (optional).
- Select the domain you want to use, and optionally apply tags and retargeting pixels to every imported link.
- Imports run in the background; you will get an email when the job finishes with a link to download any failed rows.
If you just need to shorten a quick list, try the Bulk URL Shortener.
Moving links from another shortener
For service-specific steps, start with Conversions.
- Export your links from Bitly, Rebrandly, Short.io, TinyURL, or your current shortener.
- Keep the original export as a backup.
- Open the Shortener CSV Import Mapper.
- Select the source shortener and upload or paste the export.
- Download the T.LY import CSV.
- Open Links, choose Bulk Actions → Bulk Import, and upload the converted file.
Start with important links first. Ads, QR codes, email campaigns, packaging, and sales links are worth importing and testing before a full archive move.
Bulk edit (Bulk Update CSV)
- Go to Links and open Bulk Actions → Bulk Update.
- CSV fields: ShortURL (required), LongURL (optional), Backhalf (optional), Password (optional), Description (optional).
- All short links in the file must already exist on your account.
- Selected tags and retargeting pixels apply to every updated link.
- Updates run in the background; you will get an email when the job finishes with a link to download any failed rows.
Bulk export (CSV)
- Go to Links and open Bulk Actions → Export Links.
- If you filter your Links list first (date range, tags, pixels, domains, users, search), the export will match those filters.
- The export includes link details plus click totals (including unique clicks) and QR scan totals.
No-code automation
If you want to connect T.LY to other apps without writing code, use the Zapier integration or the Pabbly Connect integration. If you are building agent workflows, use the T.LY ClawHub skill.
