Your first 10 minutes

A simple checklist to set up your account, create your first link, and find analytics.

This checklist is the fastest way to get comfortable with T.LY. You will create your first short link, confirm tracking, and set up the most common shortcuts.

1. Create (or sign into) your account

• Create an account (or sign in) so you can manage links from your dashboard.
• If you are collaborating with others, review teams and collaboration.

2. Create your first short link

• For a one-off link, use the Free URL Shortener.
• For editing, dashboards, and team workflows, create links from your Links dashboard.
• Learn the fundamentals in Short link basics.

3. Confirm tracking and analytics

• View public link stats by adding a + to the end of a t.ly link (example: t.ly/P9IK+).

4. Create a QR code (optional)

• Create a QR code quickly with the QR Code Generator.
• If you need to edit the destination later or track scans, start with Dynamic QR codes.

5. Set up shortcuts (extension, bookmarklet, API)

• Install the browser extension to shorten links without leaving your browser.
• Generate an API token in API settings and keep it private.

6. Secure and share with confidence

• Enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
