Hello Oak Grove Parents/Guardians,
OGMS was well represented last Sunday at the Jamul Parade on Oct. 8th. Our Cross Country runners, ASB students and our Making a Difference Club students were in the parade dressed as pirates. We are very proud of all of our students and love our community.
OGMS Soars with pride at the Greenfield Invitational;
Congratulations to our Eagle Cross Country runners. We ran at Greenfield Middle School on Wednesday Oct. 11th, against schools from El Cajon, Lakeside, Magnolia Science Academy and Rancho. All 20 of our runners had success and left the course feeling great about their job.
- In the 6th grade girls race we had 5 medal winners: Chloe Christiansen, Natalia Nunez, Leyla Zamora, Monserrat Osuna-Orozco and Isabella Diaz.
- In the 6th grade boys; Jesse Arias and Jesus Cedillo placed 3rd.
- We had 3 runners medal in the 7th grade girls race: Sophia Hinojosa, Tiffany Le and Linnea Ramirez
- 7th grade boys race- Caid Christiansen won 1st place and Fabian Hernandez came in 2nd
What an achievement by our mighty little school, OGMS soared with pride! All our runners ran their best times. Our next race is this coming Wednesday at Los Coches Creek near Alpine. If you would like more information please contact Mr. Spielman, email [email protected]
More exciting activities will be coming soon:
- 6th Grade Camp is Oct. 23rd to 27th. Students attending 6th grade camp will have picture day on Oct. 19th. Please make sure your camper attends school this day as there will not be a makeup picture day.
- Picture Day for all other students, 7th and 8th graders, including 6th grade students that do not attend camp, will be on Oct. 26th.
A few Reminders:
- The last day of the 1st Quarter will be on Oct. 19th.
- If your 6th grade student is not attending 6th Grade Camp, they are still required to attend school daily throughout the week of Oct. 23rd to 27th.
- For your child's safety, we ask that you drop off and pick up your student in the roundabout in front of the office only. Please do not park in the parking lot or on the street.
- Please remind your students to bring their chromebooks to school everyday, charged and ready to be used in class.
- We want to remind everyone that Earbuds/Earphones are not allowed to be used during school hours. Students wearing them in their ears will be asked to leave them in the office and will be returned to them if it is the 1st time. If they are seen wearing them a 2nd time, parents will be required to come to the office to pick them up.

Hola padres/tutores de Oak Grove:
OGMS estuvo bien representada el domingo pasado en el desfile de Jamul el 8 de octubre. Nuestros corredores de Cross Country, estudiantes de ASB y nuestros estudiantes del Club Making a Difference estuvieron en el desfile vestidos como piratas. Estamos muy orgullosos de todos nuestros estudiantes y amamos a nuestra comunidad.
OGMS se eleva con orgullo en el Greenfield Invitational;
Felicitaciones a nuestros corredores de Eagle Cross Country. Corrimos en la escuela secundaria Greenfield el miércoles 11 de octubre, contra escuelas de El Cajón, Lakeside, Magnolia Science Academy y Rancho. Nuestros 20 corredores tuvieron éxito y abandonaron el recorrido sintiéndose muy bien con su trabajo.
- En la carrera de niñas de 6to grado tuvimos 5 ganadoras de medallas: Chloe Christiansen, Natalia Núñez, Leyla Zamora, Monserrat Osuna-Orozco e Isabella Díaz.
- En los chicos de 6to grado; Jesse Arias y Jesús Cedillo quedaron en tercer lugar.
- Tuvimos medalla de 3 corredoras en la carrera de niñas de 7mo grado: Sophia Hinojosa, Tiffany Le y Linnea Ramirez.
- Carrera de niños de 7mo grado: Caid Christiansen ganó el 1er lugar y Fabián Hernández quedó en 2do
¡Qué logro de nuestra pequeña y poderosa escuela, OGMS se elevó con orgullo! Todos nuestros corredores hicieron sus mejores tiempos. Nuestra próxima carrera es el próximo miércoles en Los Coches Creek, cerca de Alpine. Próximamente habrá más actividades interesantes:
- El campamento de sexto grado es del 23 al 27 de octubre. Los estudiantes que asistan al campamento de sexto grado tendrán el día de tomar fotografías el 19 de octubre. Por favor asegúrese de que su campista asista a la escuela este día ya que no habrá un día para tomar fotografías de recuperación.
- El día de fotos para todos los demás estudiantes, de 7.º y 8.º grado, incluidos los estudiantes de 6.º grado que no asisten al campamento, será el 26 de octubre.
Algunos recordatorios:
- El último día del 1er trimestre será el 19 de octubre.
- Si su estudiante de sexto grado no asiste al campamento de sexto grado, aún debe asistir a la escuela todos los días durante la semana del 23 al 27 de octubre.
- Para la seguridad de su hijo, le pedimos que Deje y recoja a su estudiante únicamente en la rotonda frente a la oficina. Por favor no se estacione en el estacionamiento ni en la calle.
- Recuerde a sus estudiantes que traigan sus Chromebooks a la escuela todos los días, cargados y listos para usar en clase.
- Queremos recordarles a todos que no se permite el uso de audífonos durante el horario escolar. A los estudiantes que los usen en sus oídos se les pedirá que los dejen en la oficina y se los devolverán si es la primera vez. Si se les ve usándolos por segunda vez, los padres deberán venir a la oficina a recogerlos.
