Charlie Kirk, founder and president of Turning Point USA, spoke at two Washington churches Sunday, after threats from Antifa had threatened to cancel his speaking engagements.

Last week, Motion Church in Puyallup, WA, cancelled Kirk’s speaking engagement, after the anarchist group had threatened to create an autonomous zone around the venue and pledged to target the church leadership as well as its members with violence.

Two churches in the area, Westgate Chapel in Edmonds and The House Church in Snohomish, were able to host Kirk and hundreds of attendees in packed halls with standing room only. The details of the events were spread through word of mouth rather than social media. Estimates of the crowds at the two venues exceeded 1,500 people.

At the Westgate Chapel, Kirk and Senior Pastor Alec Rowlands engaged in a question answer format discussion with topics spanning the religious and political spectrums.

Kirk’s message at The House Church to a standing room only crowd in the congregation's gym, discussed how the Bible described the need for churches, pastors and parishioners to be involved in their government. Kirk argued that pastors and their flocks should be discussing politics rather than avoiding it and said, "We have a lot of secular conservatives fighting for your right to worship."

Kirk spoke about the founding father’s connection to religion and debunked narratives of critical race theory in claiming that the country was systemically racist. In his tour through American history, Kirk cited specific examples of the founders attempts to abolish slavery from the birth of America starting as early as establishing the Northwest Territories 'free' states.

Kirk described the lockdowns on religious institutions in response to the coronavirus pandemic as a threat to religion and a way that Communist dictators like Stalin had controlled populations. Kirk cited Jeremiah and said, "If you are indifferent to the conditions around you your ability to be in touch with your creator will be impacted."

"The people that are in control of everything are obsessed with you. It always comes down to shutting down the church. Shutting down the church but not the abortion factory, shutting down the church but not the cannabis dispensary."

During the latter part of his remarks, Kirk received a standing ovation when he said, "The idea of worship bothers anyone who wants to have a totalitarian state. When you are here (in church) worshipping the lord or hearing a wonderful message said Kirk pointing to the church’s pastor, what you are really saying whether you realize it or not is my connection to my creator matters more than Governor Inslee."
