The Butler women's soccer team opened BIG EAST play with a 3-0 road win over Seton Hall on Sunday. The Bulldogs move to 6-3-1 on the year, as the Pirates fall to 1-6-1.
How It Happened:
The Bulldogs drilled a goal early in each period, then added a final score in the last minute of play.
Macy Miller got the offense rolling with a goal in the third minute of the first period, giving the Bulldogs an early 1-0 lead.
Coming out of halftime,
Katie Soderstrom grabbed an early goal in the 48
th minute off an assist from
Anja Savich to put the Bulldogs up by two.
Later, the offense took advantage of an opportunity as
Amanda Kowalski set up
Payton Black for the score in the 89
th minute, solidifying the 3-0 shutout.
Notable Stats:
- Stephanie Rodriguez collected her fourth shutout of the season, grabbing two saves.
- Both Miller and Soderstrom scored their first goal since the Michigan State game. Miller has three goals on the season and Soderstrom moves to four.
- The Bulldogs had 15 corners in the match to the Pirates two.

- The Bulldogs outshot the Pirates 26-9, limiting Seton Hall's offense to just two shots on goal through 90 minutes of play.
