Minisforum launches first Mini-PC with Intel CPU, AMD version planned as well
The company has entered a highly competitive market.
Today, Colorful is introducing the CMNH01-12450, based on the 12th Gen Core CPU series known as Alder Lake-H45, which may now be considered a bit dated. With this move, the company has entered a highly competitive market where many brands offer systems with Intel and AMD CPUs, often at attractive prices. It’s worth noting that Colorful has not announced pricing for this system yet.
The Mini-PC features the Core i7-12450H, an 8-core processor with 8 P-Cores and 4 Efficient Cores. Clearly not the most high-end CPU available, it’s definitely targeting the budget segment. The PC doesn’t boast any extraordinary features but offers 2.5 GbE networking, support for PCIe Gen4 SSDs, and up to 64GB of DDR4-3200 memory (not DDR5). While it does have space for a Wi-Fi network card, it doesn’t seem to be included in this system, as far as we can tell.
We contacted Colorful to find out about their upcoming plans, and they confirmed that they are working on the Core Ultra 5 125H and AMD Ryzen 7 8845H systems. The former features a 14-core (4P+8E+2LP) processor from the latest “Meteor Lake” series, while the latter boasts the 45W version of the HawkPoint 8-core Zen4 processor.
Both systems are expected to be more impressive due to their powerful integrated graphics. The 125H will be equipped with 7 Xe-Cores, while the 8845H will feature 12 RDNA3 compute units, providing sufficient capability for casual gaming. The release of these systems is expected within the next couple of weeks, possibly around Computex.
