YPSILANTI, MI – The Ypsilanti-based Be Creative Studios is offering virtual art classes for kids and adults to explore creative abilities while at home.
This week, virtual classes will take place March 31, April 1 and 4. Household pricing for kids’ classes are $10. Adult courses are $15.
There will be an adult and kids course offered each week during Michigan’s “stay home” order. Curtis Wallace, founder of Be Creative Studios, said he plans to continue virtual classes after the order is lifted.
“I’m finding that I can connect with as many schools and people in the community, as long as you have the accessibility,” said Wallace. “I’m trying to find a way, especially with young black and brown kids, how we can connect and be positive”
Participants can register on Eventbrite.
Art supplies will needed to have a successful experience, including a canvas, paintbrushes and paint, the business advises. Wallace said supplies can be ordered online from retailers such as Walmart, Meijer, Joann’s or Michael’s.
A raffle will take place during the Be Creative Studios events.. Registering for the class automatically earns a raffle ticket, with the option of purchasing more tickets.
Be Creative Studios is focused on providing access to creating artwork in the community. The art business focuses on art techniques, painting, sculpting and puppeteering.
“[Be Creative Studios] is an ever-evolving way of helping people truly define what art means to them and how they authentically release their tension inside themselves,” said Wallace.
