CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer earned their first win in their BIG EAST home opener against the Butler Bulldogs Thursday afternoon on Wish Field. The Blue Demons improve to 4-5-2 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play.
Coming off a week long break following their BIG EAST opener at Creighton, DePaul used their strength and heart to fight for an early 1-0. Freshman Kristin Boos would be on the end of a perfectly placed cross from Jade Eriksen-Russo and strike a beauty into the top right corner of the net.
After that, the Blue Demons were hungry for more and doubled their lead in the 34th minute when Morgan Turner sent the ball home off a cross from Mary Tierney.
DePaul outnumbered Butler 10-6 in shots on the day. Midfielder Bina Saipi would fire off four shots while Turner and Boos each had three shots on goal.
